Long Arm of Love
Tell us a little about yourself Jerry:
I was born July 26,1943 in Holcomb Missouri to Charlie & Ethel Wheeling. I graduated
from High School in 1961. After two years of farm work I went to St. Louis.
I developed an interest for music at 6 and was playing guitar by the time I was 14. My
first influence was "Rockabilly", an my favorites were Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and
Carl Perkins. I sang in this style until 1965. When I heard Merle Haggard sing "Swinging
Doors" my influence changed to Country Music.
Then in early 1967 I joined up with a Banjo picking friend and played Bluegrass Music
and I still enjoy it to this day.
However in 1970 I became a Christian and sang with a Gospel Group for two years. In
1974 I started my own Bluegrass Gospel group called "Gospel Grass"
I have played with several gospel groups since that time but now I am a solo artist.
Recently completing my first professional CD, Produced by A.J. Siegler and Bobby
Wheeling at The Recording Studio in Puxico Missouri, and looking forward to the
opportunity to get out and perform for others. You can contact me at the number below
